July 2, 2009 - Cream of the West has unveiled its new web site today. The site provides all that Cream of the West's customers have grown to appreciate about the Harlowton, Montana company - heart-healthy hot cereals, nutritional snacks, and their signature Bear Luv-Un honey - simply displayed and affordably priced. But, in addition, says co-owner Susan Moore, they have now dug into their stock of information and are providing free recipes, useful articles, a blog with helpful hints and interesting tidbits from the Montana plain, and a store locator. Other fun additions include old farming sayings and useful online resources.
Susan asserts that while their site has been redesigned and updated, behind the scenes at their plant has remained the same. She says, "We're still the same small, friendly business as always. (Plant manager) Bobby keeps the assembly line flowing, (assistant plant manager) Stacy keeps us all organized and in stitches, and (general manager and co-owner) Alicia and I collaborate on everything from marketing and product development to design and more marketing! And as a result of our new blog, we've hired Kendra as our summer intern. She'll be delighting our readers with a teenager's view of life in a small town."
The Cream of the West crew is very excited about their newly redesigned web site. "We hope to give back to our customers by providing recipes and ideas for using our products," Susan says. They've been busy collecting tried and true recipes from their favorite cooks and have been adding recipes from their book, "A Cookbook of Country Favorites". Another way of giving back is to keep their customers informed of goings on at the plant and a peek at life in a rural Montana town.
And the work never ends. Upcoming projects include a new product line comprising of organic grains, flours, lentils, and beans - all grown on the plains of Montana - and a reprinting of their cookbook, which unfortunately is out of stock. "We plan to involve our customers by asking for their favorite recipes and tips for using and cooking our products," says Susan.
The beautiful new site, designed by Chris Grinnell of Bearing the Light, is a work in progress. Susan adds, "To obtain the full benefit, check back often and keep in touch. Though we're busy, we always take the time to visit with our customers and reply to every single voice- and e-mail."
